Q: What is a 'Deepscan'?
A: A 'Deepscan' will check each ECU category in our database. this will check if there are any matches to the connected vehicle against the protocols and the part numbers within the ECU's.
How to perform a DeepScan:
Step 1: First, connect to the vehicle.
Step 2: Go to the vehicle ECU connection screen. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, then click the 'Click here if you can't find an ECU' text and the 'Find ECU's' button.
Step 3: After identifying the vehicle. MECH5 may ask you if you have selected the correct year and make/model. (HELP TIP: Please ensure this is correct. If your model is not listed or you are unsure, please click 'NOT SPECIFIED')
Next, MECH5 will ask you to perform a 'Deep Scan'. Please click 'RUN DEEPSCAN'
Any new ECU's found will be displayed and will appear on the ECU connection page.
Step 4: If new ECU's are found, please perform a health check with snapshots. (This feature is only available for MECH5 users with a subscription)
